Wheel Fun

After a fun day of wheel demonstration, these students took turns on the wheel. They had to learn how to get clay perfectly in the center of the wheel and control the clay (not the other way around)! Then they had to learn how to open up a hole in the center and pull up to form a bowl or cup. Once they learned the basics, students were allowed to go to the back of the room to work on the wheel anytime they had time between other projects. This activity proved to be one of the fan favorites and it's easy to see why. Even if students don't produce a piece, they still have a blast!
