Students learned about the exciting life and colorful art career of Brazilian artist Romero Britto. From childhood to superstar artist, Britto's passion for art and optimistic outlook on life is expressed in his work, which embodies messages of hope and love with bold colors, shapes, and patterns. Each student selected a positive emotion that arose from looking at his work and created a cut paper collage expressing that emotion, inspired by his artistic style. With a new and heightened awareness to quality mark-making, students learned advanced Cutting Quality and Gluing Quality techniques in preparation to developing these brilliant collage messages to share with viewers during this pandemic.
