Students were challenged to disassemble a defunct household appliance or item, put the contents in a shoe box and bring it all into school. From there, they were to build a “Creature” by reassembling the parts and pieces in a different way. As these interesting creatures came to life in the classroom, the students were then challenged to name their creature and write a story about its “lifestyle” based upon the items it was built from. The students had an enormous amount of fun with the many creative problem solving skills used in the building of these fabulous creatures...!
