Warm and Cool Watercolor Studies
One marvelous mystery about color is how its effect changes drastically when placed next to another. The ability to manipulate how color is interpreted is the skill of a master artist. In order to create these gorgeous displays, the students constructed an abstract symmetrical design, chose a warm and cool color scheme, and pieced together a design using these colors and shapes. Students developed techniques to gain meticulous control of the paintbrush as well as control over color intensity. Although they all were given the same assignment, each one turned into its own explosive and bright "snowflake," unique and graceful, like the artists who created them.
